Melton Gig Guide: June 9 to 14 - Melton Times

The Noels Arms will host its Wax Comical Chip Shop night this evening. Comedians on the bill are Jon Pearson, Chris Stokes and Harriet Dyer.

On Friday night, the Noels Arms hosts Junction Acoustic as part of their Early Doors sessions.

The band will play songs from the likes of Peter Gabriel, Bon Jovi, Thin Lizzy, Rush, CCR and many more.

Dave the Rock Band is in town on Saturday. It was Christmas 2012 in a small pub in Melton that night, ‘Dave the Rock Band’ was born. Many venues and a Melton Light Switch on later, this weekend Dave will be at the Genny B.

He is set to perform all the classic rock hits from Bon Jovi to the likes of The Rolling Stones.

The Retrospects will gig at The Saddle in Twyford on Saturday. They are a versatile three piece outfit with a big sound, promising to offer something genuinely different from the average pub band.

Mod Story take over The Grapes on Saturday. This band will help you travel back to the origins of Mod in the 60s, 70s 80s, 90s, and back to the present day.

Sunday sees Luke and Lucy perform an unplugged session at the Noels Arms.

They will play chilled out acoustic covers of rock classics from Whitesnake, The Civil Wars and Damien Rice.

At the Bandstand in Play Close, Melton, there will be a free Brass Band concert on Sunday.

Also on Sunday The Geese and Fountain at Croxton Kerrial is hosting its Geese Folk Acoustic Music Night Club.

Organiser Nick Holden said: “All are welcome. Bring a song, an instrument, your voice or just your ears.”

Tuesday sees Melton Folk Club gather in the Tiger Room at The Crown. This is a new venture that welcomes people of all ages and is hosted by Adrian Kerr. Visit www.facebook.com/meltonfolkclub/
