Young cricketer Ben Lumb was rewarded for a prolific season at the South Nottinghamshire Cricket League awards evening last week.
Ben, who has just turned 14, won the Stewart Hague Young Player of the Year award for a run-filled summer with Kinoulton CC.
The youngster, who also plays age group cricket for Nottinghamshire CCC, scored 388 runs at an average of 35 for Kinoulton’s First XI, including an unbeaten 151 - his maiden senior century.
Ben, who was named Melton Times Junior Sportsman of the Year in June, also took 21 wickets at 13 to finish second in the club’s bowling averages, and in the junior ranks he averaged 200 for the village club’s under 15s side.
He also won the batting and players’ player awards for Notts Under 13s, scoring 450 runs as opening bat, including a top score of 93 at Kinoulton.
