Melton Mowbray Tae Kwon-Do Club’s Rebecca Fields left the North Midlands Championships at Derby Arena with a silver medal.
Competing at Derby last Sunday, she performed well throughout the day in individual categories before claiming second place in the junior girls’ team sparring event.
The competition was well attended with more than 400 participants and officials from all over the region taking part on the day.
Rebecca, who trains at Sandy Lane Methodist Church on Tuesday evenings, has enjoyed competition success through the junior grades in the past, and has been training this season with the England team at their Loughborough base.
Club Instructor Daniel Pearce believes the extra hard work Rebecca has put in is starting to pay off, and the future is very bright for her after such a promising year.
The club encourages all ages and abilities to get involved in tae kwon-do, whether it is for the sport or just for general fitness, and new people are always welcome.
