A field of 51 players competed in an individual stableford and raised £555.55 on the morning, a total which will grow when further poppy sales before Remembrance Day are added.

The winner with 41 points was Barry Mitchell, just a point ahead of runner-up Alex Whitelaw whose score was improved by a hole-in-one on the 12th hole.

The next three places were all decided by countback as they finished their rounds locked together on 38 points. Graham Tebbutt took fourth, and Don Werner pipped Gary Bellfor fifth place.

After points won in the Autumn Cup and the Poppy Appeal were combined, the overall leader in the Winter Warmers competition is Mike Nixon with nine points, ahead of Colin Doughty and Larry Larsen, each with eight.
