Stoke Rochford seniors held their annual Christmas competition as an individual stableford using only two clubs and a putter.
There was an air of generosity throughout as one member paid for the competition costs of all 57 players, and two more provided a very welcome halfway house with seasonal refreshment, and another donated raffle prizes.
Following the Christmas meal there was a spontaneous collection for Help for Heroes which raised £231.
As for the golf, Eddie Plant won the Walker Cup with 40 points a point ahead of runner-up Phil White.
Mike Nixon (38) was third on countback from fourth-placed Jeff Purdy and Alex Whitelaw in fifth.
Don Clements (37) was sixth, and Alan Dolby took seventh place from Phil Hewes on countback with 36 points.
Seniors captain Barry Coop wrapped up the event by presenting cups, trophies and prizes to the summer competition winners.
