Stoke Rochford beat Oundle to retain 52 Match Plate

To commemorate the occasion in 2006 when Oundle Seniors ended Stoke Rochford’s 52-match unbeaten home record, the teams compete annually for the ’52 Match Plate.’

Stoke successfully retaining the Trophy this year with a comfortable 5.5-2.5 win.

Scores: Graham Manton/Don Werner won 1-up; Don Clements/Barry Coop halved; Greg Ewart/David Hamilton won 4 and 3; Brian Keightley/Barry Gaunt won 2 and 1; Keith Dugmore/Ray Elsome won 4 and 3; Roland Slack/Mike Graves won 9 and 7; Tim Haward/Mike Dickinson lost 1-down; Chris Woof/Stephen Major lost 1-down.

* Don Clements won Round three of the six-round Seniors Trophy with a solid 39 points and took the overall lead with a total of 111 points.

Richard Leverett drops to second place overall with 107 points, and David Hamilton is third with 102.

Trevor Harvey was second on the day with 36 points on countback from Mike Palmer.

* The Ladies Ping Tournament was won by Chris Rowley and Pauline Haggerty with 40 points from Karen Rawson and Judy Rawson (39), and Sheila Dugmore with Roni Proctor (36).

* The Stoke Rochford Ladies’ Open was won by home player Judy Rawson with a nett 71.

Chris Rowley (73) was second on countback from Cathy Lee, and the gross prize was won by Helen Lowe (Scraptoft) with 80.
