A Stilton Striders quartet were crowned team champions at the latest race in the Leicester City 5k series last Thursday.
Jay Barton, Matt Gayton, Darren Glover and Stuart Gregory lined up with 100 others on a sunny evening.
Jay, who had showed good form in the first race, made light work of the 5km course, finishing third in a time of 17min 29secs.
He was followed little more than two minutes later by Matt (19.38) who crossed the line in 14th. He was just six seconds ahead of Darren who finished 15th, and first vet 40, while Stuart rounded off the quartet with a time of 28.01 for 71st.
* Andrew Easom-Bentley and Simon Bottrill headed to Derbyshire for the Rab Mini Mountain Marathon at Dovedale.
Racing as a pair, the Striders had a two-hour time limit to find 15 locations marked on a map in and around Dovedale with points awarded for each location dependent upon difficulty.
The first two locations were found quickly, but after a sharp descent to the River Dove, they struggled to find the third.
After the delay the pair opted to do the big ascents to gain more points and found eight locations, covering 8.4 miles with almost 1,700ft of ascent to finish 44th out of 107 competitors.
* Three Striders took part in the Notts AAA 10-mile road race at the National Watersports Centre at Holme Pierrepont.
Running almost half of the race in torrential rain, John Houghton was first Strider home in 1hr 14min 19secs for 175th overall. Louise Houghton finished in even worse conditions in 1.20.58 for 230th overall and seventh lady vet 45.
Stuart Gregory picked up the pace in the final five miles to finish in 1.45.09 and 331st.
