Last Wednesday saw the return of the Stilton Striders’ traditional summer run, the No Watch Race.

With only a sketched course map to go by, the 23 runners lined up in Hickling and gave in their estimated times, ranging from 35 minutes to 51.13.

The goal of the race is to finish as close to the time estimate as possible, but 22 of the 23 runners were quicker than predicted, often by a good margin.

The overall winner, and only person slower than their predicted time, was Michael Atton, running four days after his debut marathon, who was only 17 seconds out.

Times (difference): 1 Michael Atton 35min 17secs (+17secs), 2 Michael Cooke 37.22 (-1.08), 3 John Wilson 45.02 (-1.28), 4 Jim Hatherley 33.21 (-1.39), 5 Steve McGarry 38.54 (-2.06), 6 Luke Eggleston 33.33 (2.27), 7 Debbie 45.04 (2.28), 8 Mike Bryan 34.45 (-2.45), 9 Ian Mason 41.15 (-2.45), 10 Will Blythe 34.20 (-3.10), 11 Neil Jgaggard 47.55 (-3.18), 12 Tony Allen 41.39 (-3.21), 13 Isaac 41.29 (-3.31), 14 Ben Pickard 36.06 (-3.54), 15 Matt Atterbury 33.04 (-3.56), 16 Shane Sharkey 34.08 (-4.02), 17 Andy Nicholls 35.39 (4.46), 18 Clive Kent 33.48 (-5.02), 19 Simon Bottril 45.02 (-5.15), 20 Tam Nicol 36.58 (-7.25), 21 John Houghton 36.58 (-8.02), 22 Katie Hately 37.17 (-9.23), 23 Lloyd Willett 30.55 (-14.05).
