Stilton Striders runner Natalie Teece showed her marathon training is well on track by taking home a prize from the Newton’s Fraction Half-marathon.
On a very tough, hilly course and in terrible wet, windy and cold conditions Natalie was the first lady across the finish line at the Meres Stadium in Grantham.
Her excellent time of 1hr 29min 27secs was good enough for 38th overall out of a 400-strong field.
* A group of Stilton Striders travelled to Markfield for the third round of the Leicestershire Road Running League,
Natalie again showed her form with an excellent third lady back, and 85th overall, in 40min 20secs, while the Striders had four veteran men in the top 80 which bodes well for the league tables.
First back for the club, continuing his impressive comeback, was Nick Brown in 56th place in 38.42, just ahead of Darren Glover 65th in 39.15 and David Hamdorff (39.17).
Mark Stoneley was 80th in 40.06 followed by Paul Geeson (42.29) and Michelle Farlow (45.39). Julie Bass was second in her age category in 45.49, while Vicki Lowe was fourth in her age category of 46.45.
Other times: Liz Goodbourn (48.04), Tam Nicol (48.36), Sarah Proctor (51.24), Ray Walker (52.36), Mel Willatt (53.18), Nick Pryke (53.22), Emma Hope (56.52), Vanessa Walker (58.06).

* Luke Eggleston did very well to finish the Silverstone Half-Marathon in 1hr 32min 14secs having struggling with a knee injury for the second half of the race.
Matt Gayton used the race as a hard training run in his comeback to fitness and finished in 1.33.36.
