Stilton Strider Luke shines at Beacon Solstice
Luke Eggleston finished second overall after an excellent run, clocking 32min 09secs, while clubmate was seven places back in ninth after posting 33.50, to finish first vet 40.
Clive Kent was next for the Melton club in 35.23, just a few strides ahead of Paul Geeson (35.27) and Michael Atton (35.37).

Hide AdSimon Bottrill clocked 37.50, and John Wilson stopped the clock in 41.50, while Rebecca Forester was first lady back for Striders in 43.54.

The race was also open to canicross, where runners race with a dog which has to be attached to the runner, usually with a lead system fitted around the runner’s waist.
They started five minutes before the runners and Ben Pickard competed in this category with his dog Geoff and finished in 46.38.
Tony Allen and Merlin also competed and clocked 51.41.

Liz Goodbourn was first lady vet 50 in 23.47, and both came away with a bottle of wine prize.
