Holwell Sports Bowls Club offers you the chance to try a new sport and make friends when it hosts a free open day on Saturday.
The event, at their home in Welby Road, Asfordby Hill, is open to all ages and runs from 10am to 4pm.
Club coach Glenise Marshall and fellow members will be on hand to help newcomers to understand the game and how it is played.
Bowls will be provided and trainers can be worn on the green to begin with. Refreshments will be available in the club lounge which also has a bar.
The club was founded in 1917 and is keen to welcome new members to help them celebrate their centenary in two years’ time.
Social evenings are held throughout the season and new members are encouraged to play in friendly midweek games and at weekends.
A range of competitions are played and, as members progress, they can enter county and national competitions.
The club offers a free first year’s membership.
