Old Dalby produced a much improved display to stay top of Division N with two games to go.
Dalby were put in to bat at home to Ellerslie Fourth XI and openers Chris Knott (91) and Rob Herrick (45) got them off to a great start, posting 102 for the first wicket.
When Herrick fell in the 23rd over, David Greaves (42) took over and continued racking up the score before Lee Creedon (16) and Phil Greaves (27 not out) helped Dalby to 235-6 in 45 overs.
After tea, Dalby’s bowlers set about their task and, apart from Alex Fortescue (42), Ellerslie’s batsmen offered little resistance against some good bowling. The fielding was also sharper than it had been the previous week.
Thirteen-year-old Alfie Greaves bowled four maidens in nine excellent overs to take 3 for 24, 14-year-old Matt Lindley took 2 for 11, and Joe Gant 4 for 25 as Ellerslie were bowled out for 114 in 40 overs.
