The 25th annual Melton Lions Charity Golf Tournament takes place at Melton Golf Club on Sunday, August 21 when prizes worth £15,000 are up for grabs.

Entry costs £15 and the top prize is a new car for a hole-in-one, but there are a host of great prizes up for grabs at the fundraising event which helps to raise money for disadvantaged children.

The competition is a pairs betterball stableford and features four top hole-in-one prizes: a Suzuki Swift car, a three-night stay for two people on a golfing holiday in Portugal, a weekend for four at the Forest of Arden, and a set of Taylor Made Rocket Bladez HP Irons and White Smoke Putter.

Prizes also go to the top five teams as well as best ladies and mixed pairs, longest drive, nearest-the-pin and white line, and putting.

The event has regularly raised between £5,000 and £8,000 with all proceeds being spent on projects large and small to help improve the lives of disadvantaged young people in the area.
