A team of eight Plodders took part in the Conti Thunder Run, the third time the club has tackled the sell-out race, held around Catton Park, in Staffordshire.

Taking part for the Plodders were Jane Scatchard, Jim Dziemianko, Andrea Dziemianko, Zenon Kurys, Emma Machowska, Gosia Garner, Teresa Wrzyszcz and Rachel Hammond.

Despite the heat and several injuries sustained by members of the team, the Plodders successfully completed 21 laps of the cross country course.

In what proved a busy July, two of the group’s runners took part in the Women’s Running 10k race series in Nottingham.

The flat course around the Victoria Embankment proved a perfect venue and resulted in personal bests for both Plodders.

First home for the club was Emma Machowska in 50min 29secs, closely followed by Gosia Garner in 52.06.
