On Saturday, nine Stilton Striders juniors ran at a very wet and muddy Wigston in the county cross country championships.
Despite the conditions, all nine ran their hearts out.
First up was Victoria Sercombe in the under 17s girls’ race where she finished an excellent sixth.
In the under 13s girls’ race, Lucy Thomas finished 28th and sister Ella was one place back, while Mia Barlow finished just behind in 34th.
This left the Striders fifth overall in the team standings which was an excellent result as all three are at the bottom of their age group.
Luke Jane, running his first cross country of the season, finished a creditable eighth in the under 17s boys.
Marcus Rowland and Tom Dryell ran in the under 15s boys’ race, finishing ninth and 10th.
The last Striders athletes to run were Edward Birch, who finished 14th, and Taylor Jordan (15th).
