Dalby managed to retain their slim lead at the top of Division One but were lucky to do so against Notts and Arnold Fifth XI on Saturday.
The Notts innings got off to a slow start after the first wicket went in the second over and another swiftly followed in the third.
Notts looked to be on the rails when they were 60-6 in the 20th over, but Andy Claye (43), Holly Stannard (33 not out) and Amaz Mustafa (28) all contributed to help them recover to 167-8 after 45 overs.
Dalby’s bowlers started well with Lee Creedon (3 for 20), Carrick Fone (2 for 36) and Joe Gant (2 for 28), but the middle order proved harder to remove.
Dalby’s reply got off to a terrible start when Carl Bettesworth took two wickets in the first over and Dalby’s first three batsmen were all out for 0 by the second over.
But then Joe Gant (94 not out) and Lee Creedon (22) took control. Gant, assisted by Tony Woodcock (20), saw Dalby over the line to finish on 168-7 in 29.3 overs.
