Sophie Hahn clinched her second medal at the IPC Athletics World Championships in Qatar with silver in the T38 200m final this afternoon.

Hahn was beaten into second place by Russian rival Margarita Goncharova who gained revenge for last Thursday’s 100m defeat by setting a new world record of 26.61 seconds in Doha.

Goncharova made the better start, and despite closing the gap on the finishing straight, Hahn was unable to catch her rival who added the world 200m title to the European gold she won last year.

Hahn, coached by Joe McDonnell and Sam Heathcote at Loughborough, also won the world 200m silver in Lyon, France, two years ago - her first international medal.

Last Thursday the 19-year-old stunned her rivals by beating her own world record by four-tenths of a second to retain her T38 100m title.

Hahn could yet add another world medal to her tally when she runs for Britain in the sprint relay on Saturday, the final day of the nine-day event.
