Cold and windy conditions greeted five Pork Pie Plodders at the Silverstone Half Marathon on Sunday.

The Plodders were part of a field of more than 6,700 runners tackling the 13.1-mile course set around the iconic race track. First Plodders home was Emma Machowska in 1hr 55min 21secs in a course PB.

Hot on Emma’s heels were Zenon Kurys and Gosia Garner who, despite carrying injuries, finished in 1.57.01 and 1.57.16 respectively.

Next home was Kevin Bindley with a personal best of 2.17.56 closely followed by Jane Scatchard (2.18.47) who used the race as part of her London Marathon preparations.

Over in Grantham, Gina Bailey represented the Plodders in the Newton’s Fraction Half Marathon, and completed the challenging course in 2.20.59.
