Sophie Hahn came within a whisker of breaking her own world record as she blasted into tonight’s Paralympic T38 100m final.

The 19-year-old clocked 12.62 seconds in the heats in the early hours of this morning, just two-hundredths of a second off her own record mark set at the world championships last October.

It also obliterated the Paralympic Games record of 13.43secs set eight years ago.

She is scheduled to line up in tonight’s final in Rio at 9.42pm.
