Greg Oldfield’s man-of-the-match performance helped Belvoir to victory over Notts Unity Casuals on Saturday.
Oldfield took a wicket in each of his first two overs and went on to bowl straight through for 16-3-33-3.
He also took an outstanding catch in the covers and rounded it off with a run-a-ball unbeaten century to see Belvoir to a seven-wicket win in this Division A match.
The day had begun well for Notts Unity as Ammar Khan (52) found the boundary with some elegant strokes. But he lost partners regularly, including one to a neat stumping by Ryan Lewis and another to a brilliant, direct-hit run-out by Lui Holliday from mid-wicket.
Ammar fell in the same over to a good catch by Phil Irvine, and Yasir Hamshi was well caught behind by Lewis as he tried to regain the initiative. Tayyab Khan (21) and Hishaam Khan (16 not out) edged Notts Unity past the 200 mark.
In reply Belvoir lost two quick wickets before Oldfield and Josh Sharpe (26) steadied things for 10 overs, but at 59-3 the game was poised.
From then the pendulum swung only one way as Lewis Dann (51 not out) and Oldfield (101 not out) ran the fielders ragged, plundering 144 runs from 153 balls. Fittingly Oldfield finished the job with a mighty four which brought up his ton.
