Thorpe Arnold Seconds recorded another win with an excellent all-round team performance to secure 30 points at Langtons on Saturday.

On losing the toss they were asked to bat, but openers Mark Carnell and Simon Jones laid the foundation for a big score by putting on 105 in 20 overs until Mark was out for 46.

Henry Newton (17) and Kieran Turakhia (15) added useful contributions as Jones anchored the innings with a fine 66 until he was out in the 36th over with the score on 162-4.

Andy Sibun joined Tim Hirst (28) and they quickly set about the bowling with Sibun reaching his 50 off the last ball as Thorpe posted an impressive 263-5.

Henry Newton and the returning Matt Lane opened the bowling and it was Newton who again removed the top three batsmen in his seven-over spell.

Lane used all his experience to grab three wickets on a track where line and length was key.

Under 15s player Chris Moule claimed his first senior wickets by clean bowling two batsmen in five economical overs. Hirst took the final wicket as Thorpe kept up their superb start to the season.

Saturday brings a much-anticipated clash at Barkby.
