There was a changing of the guard as Browning Suzuki Belvoir Cricket League held their annual meeting and presentation night at Thorpe Arnold CC.
Adam Baker took over as chairman from former Melton Times sports editor Colin Moulds who stepped aside after five years at the helm. Colin thanked league sponsors Browning Suzuki, the Melton Times and 103 The Eye for their continued support.
The league, in turn, thanked Colin for all his work during his tenure, and re-elected the committee of secretary Keith Evans, treasurer Mark Bullimore and representatives Mark Wells and Tim Gadsby.
Bottesford were elected into the league, but the withdrawal of Frisby and Market Overton left the league with 16 teams.
Among the presentations, there were trophies for divisional winners Thorpe Arnold A, Grantham and Upper Broughton, while Thorpe were overall league champions, claiming the centenary title after a play-off win against Welby.
Other team prizes went to Frank Woodhead Cup winners Welby, after defeating Buckminster in the final, and to Egerton Park for beating Sproxton in the Belvoir Cup final, while the Martin Cowman Trophy was won by Oakham.
The individual awards went to Thorpe Arnold pair Haydn Murphy (batting) and Keith Evans (bowling).
