Barkby United CC: Awards double for Kirk, Townsend and Flowers

Barkby United Cricket Club held their senior presentation evening at The Spice of India restaurant in Syston.

Organiser and compere for the night, Hugh Asher, complimented the Saturday First XI on their promotion to the Everards County League Premier Division and wished all of the teams luck for next season.

Ian Kirk picked up the batting and Players’ Player of the year awards for the Firsts, while Rob Townsend took the bowling prize.

Scott Moore and Adam Cookson won the batting and bowling awards respectively for the Second XI.

In the Third XI, John Hollis was named top batsman and Ian Cooper took the bowling honours, while Jack Fox was their Player of the Year.

Steve Flowers won the batting award for Barkby’s Sunday XI and Burrough League First XI with Rob Townsend winning his second award of the evening for the Sunday side. Jack Johnson was named top bowler for the Burrough League’s first team.

Barkby’s Burrough League Second XI prizes went to Michael Lilley (bowling) and Henry Mount (batting).
