It was peg 23 where he won a previous match, but on this occasion he broke the 100lbs with an impressive 104lbs total to take first place.

He was well ahead of the rest with the closest to him being Roy Toulson from peg 10, where he found some good-sized barbel and F1s fishing the margins, finishing with 64lbs to take the other section.

Third on the lake was Joe Comerford with 52lbs from peg 4.

On Serpent Martin Quilter took the lake from peg 7 where, for a while, it was looking like he may also take the golden peg money. But that was before Lagoon weighed in.

He had 49lbs of small F1s and barbel taken on maggot down the margins and the near shelf.

The other section was won by Tom Hamilton from peg 24 with 39lbs made up of a couple of good-sized carp. Third was Ian Bradley with 35lbs from peg 14.

Marina, stream and river were required for last Wednesday’s match, and it was the weather again that affected the weights.

Catching all through the match and, despite losing a number of good-sized, carp he took the match with an impressive 93lbs, which included 25lbs of silvers.

Dirk Williams was second, and the other section winner on the lake from peg 7 where he caught shallow on caster and maggot ending with 65lbs.

Third on the lake was David Knott with 41lbs from peg 18.

On river, Steve Cunningham was the overall lake winner with 59lbs from peg 4, made up of carp and F1s taken down the track and the margins. Mick Atherton took the other section and was second on the lake with 51lbs. Steve Cuthbert, on peg 15, was third.
