Wymeswold show jumper Holly Gillott celebrated International Women’s Day by taking third place in the Spanish sunshine on Sunday??.
She completed the final podium line up behind Swiss rider Janika Sprunger and fellow British rider Yasmin Pinchen in the FEI CSI3* 1.55m Grand Prix at Vejer de la Frontera, in Spain.
A total of 54 combinations contested the Grand Prix and Holly and Dougie were one of just five who produced a first round clear.
Holly delivered a fast jump-off round with her 10-year-old liver chestnut gelding and were unfortunate to pick up four faults, but their quick time of 50.37 seconds saw them secure a third place finish.
Janika delivered the only double clear inside the time on board Aris CMS, finishing on a score of zero faults in 56.14 seconds, while Yazmin and stallion Van de Vivaldi finished second with just two time faults in a time of 60.50 seconds.
