Waltham-on-the-Wolds Karate Club trio fought it out for honours at the Federation of Shotokan Karate National Championships last week.
More than 50 children came from all over the country to compete at Beeston, in Nottingham, in kumite (fighting) and kata (form of moves).
Redmile Primary Schools Willow Rae (8), Ned Leivers (9) and Ruben Starmer (8) all took part in the kata discipline, judged by chief instructor Aidan Trimble, seventh Dan.
The three all performed well on their competition debuts, with Ned claiming a medal after finishing third for his grade and age group.
Waltham Karate Club coach Deb Beevers said: “All the parents and myself were extremely proud of them. They all showed tremendous spirt throughout the event.”
* The club meets on Monday evenings at Waltham Village Hall.
