Stoke Rochford trio top Yorkshire Stableford

Golf is the world's most boring game, according to a recent survey

Stoke Rochford Golf Club seniors’ latest Winter Warmers competition was a Yorkshire Stableford.

A healthy field of 49 players competed, topped by the team of Brian Ayto, Steve Cullington and Barry Gaunt with 75 points.

The next two spots had to be decided on countback with Ernie Armstrong, Colin Howett, and sleeping partner Mike Thornton pushing Brian Keightley, Phil Hewes and Chris Woof into third, both teams carding 71 points.

With 70 seniors already having competed in at least one of the three rounds, a group of five players share the overall lead on nine points – Ernie Armstrong, Colin Doughty, Brian Keightley, Graham Manton and Mike Nixon.
