Stoke Rochford Golf Club seniors’ annual Christmas competition was an individual stableford using only two clubs and a putter.

A total of 54 seniors competed before lunch where seniors’ captain Mike Nixon made the presentation of prizes, cups and vouchers won throughout the year.

Don Clements came out on top of the Christmas event to claim the Walker Cup with 36 points, one ahead of runner-up Adrian Stannard.

The next four places were decided on countback with Eddie Plant, Steve Cullington, John Martindale and Barry Mitchell taking third to sixth respectively, all with 34 points.

Mike Palmer won the nearest-the-pin prize on the 17th hole.

Winter Warmers points were awarded for the competition and after seven weeks of the series, 74 seniors have taken part.

Eddie Plant leads with 24 points from Greg Ewart (22), Mike Nixon (21), Gareth Hughes (21) and Roger Nicholls (17).
