Stoke Rochford GC Seniors have a history of impressive unbeaten home runs, 52 matches between 2003 and 2006, and 30 matches between 2009 and 2010.
Victory on Monday against Luffenham Heath took their latest run to 17 matches since defeat at the hands of Burghley Park in August 2014.
But the eagerly-awaited encounter with their bogey side again proved their undoing as they went down by five games to three.
The result extended Burghley Park’s impressive winning streak at Stoke Rochford to four matches.
