Time is running out to enter this year’s Stathern Duathlon which takes place on Sunday, March 19.
The closing date for advance entries is Friday, March 10, although some entries may be taken on the day if the race limit of 200 is not reached.
The race comprises of two 5km runs, along a flat out-and-back course, either side of an 18km bike ride which climbs a sharp hill up to Eastwell before following the top of the escarpment and then turns left away from Belvoir Castle and back to Stathern.
Proceeds from the event will help provide quality sports coaching opportunities for Stathern Primary School and young people in the village, and this year Cancer Research UK has been chosen as a charity partner to whom organisers will make a donation.
The duathlon has raised more than £7,000 over the last five years.
Team entries are also available this year. Teams can be made up of two or three competitors with each one completing one or two segments of the duathlon.
