Up-and-coming cyclist Eve Lyon is set to put the frustrations of a stop-start season behind her as she bids to defend a national title this weekend.
The Scalford teenager has spent most of the mountain bike season recovering from illness and injury, but she is now fit, training and racing uphill.
On Sunday she will attempt to defend her age group title at the National Hill Climb Championships at Jackson Bridge, in Yorkshire.
Eve has enjoyed an excellent hill climbing season, winning five events out of five in her age category and keeping pace with the leading lady professionals.
She warmed up for the nationals by racing twice in one day at Matlock last weekend on both the Riber Hill and Bank road.
Tackling 25 per cent climbs, both former national championship courses, the 15-year-old finished third woman in each race.
