Four Melton Olympic Cycling Club members tried out their early season form at the Sleaford Wheelers Charity 10-mile time trial on Saturday.
A field of 130 riders were anticipating fast times on a windless day and a pan flat course with very little traffic.
Melton’s Jamie Haines, who is becoming something of a champion tester, came home in a fantastic third position in a time 21min 49secs.
Bryan Fenwick was next quickest for Melton, finishing 92nd in 27.30, while Bill Vetcher was 113th in 30.28 and Debbie Shaw was 114th in the standings with 30.42.
* The club’s Evening Time Trial League has got under way and the next round will take place on Wednesday (April 15), on the Plungar course. First rider off at 6.45pm.
* On Sunday, the club run will be leaving Mill Street car park at 9am with a halfway point of Stanton-on-the-Wolds.
