A prestigious record fell as Melton Olympic Cycling Club staged its Open 25 TT on the A46 at Farndon.
A 100-strong field of riders entered with Jamie Perkins (Team Zenith GC Cycles) topping the tree in 51.30 ahead of runner-up Matt Sinclair (Lutterworth Cycle Centre) in 52.21.
For Melton, Russell Gent clocked 1hr 00min 33secs from John Atkin (1.06.28), Debbie Shaw (1.12.19), and Mike Street whose time of 1.15.05 set a new club record over 25 miles for an octogenarian.
* The latest Wednesday club time trial league outing ventured to the Ashby Pastures circuit where Jamie Haines was once again fastest in 20min 14secs from his shadow Stu Faver (22.13).

* The previous Wednesday saw riders tackle the gruelling 13-mile lap of the Harby circuit with the riders climbing Harby Hill up to the finish line.
Haines won in 30min 39secs followed by Faver (33.22).

The event is open to category 3/4 riders and starts at 10am.
Anyone willing to help on the day, should report to Edmondthorpe Village Hall race HQ at 8am.
The next round of the Evening TT League also takes place on the Wymondham circuit, first riders off at 7pm.
