The sixth and final round of the Autumn Trophy was played at Melton Golf Club on Sunday with seven players in contention for top spot.
Played as a betterball, the final round was won by Anthony Halls and Brendan Boyce, from runner-up Chris Radford, playing alone, while Alan Newton and Kevin Robertson were third.
The overall winner of the trophy with three wins and a second place finish was Anthony Halls.
* The men’s non-qualifying competition was played on Saturday.
With only four points between the top eight places, competition was nip-and-tuck as Matt Thomson came out on top with 39 points.
He finished two clear of Alex Fairbrother, Richard South and Ray Smith who all finished with 37 points. Matt Catton and Steve Goddard both shot a level 36.
* Wednesday’s ladies’ stableford was won by Jean Moulds with 17 points, one point ahead of Maureen Stapleford who was second on countback.
* The ladies’ greensome medal, played earlier in March, was won by Margaret Samways and Alison Gatward with a nett 40.5. Runners-up Drina Terzza and Kathie Finn scored nett 42.
* Melton GC’s annual meeting, held last Thursday, was attended by 61 members who heard chairman Phil Millward report on the club’s performance during 2015.
