Melton Golf Club: Three-way tie for ladies’ medal

Dorothy Jaggers continued her good form when she joined a three-way tie for the ladies’ July Wednesday medal.

Bettyne Norton, Jean Moulds and Dorothy could only be separated by countback with Jean finishing as overall and Division One winner.

Bettyne won Division Two, knocking Dorothy into second spot again on countback. 

Sue Stimson’s 15 points won the ladies’ nine-hole qualifier, closely followed by runner-up Sally Hudson with 14 points. Both are long-standing club members.

* Only two points separated the top four in the senior individual stableford on June 30.

Pete Rayers edged out Vic Newham on countback to win, both having clocked up 35 points, but Pete having a superior back nine.

Third place went to Bob Luke with 34 points.

* Bob also had a clear victory in the senior stableford, finishing six points clear of his closest rivals with 40.

Bob Parkinson and Bill Fisher were some way behind with 34 points to take second and third places respectively on countback. 

Tony Houghton’s 14 points won the nine-hole qualifier from runner-up Kevin Selby.
