Melton Golf Club got into the festive swing of things with a special seasonal golf competition last week.
The weather was kind for the players who gathered for the Seniors Christmas Competition, and scores benefitted from excellent ground conditions and the best of winter sunshine.
The format was a Texas scramble with a shotgun start at 8.30am, with golfers treated to sausage rolls and mince pies from the club’s new caterers.
Seniors captain Haydn Snow and his team of Brendon Boyce, Pat Lee and Keith Loring enjoyed the taste of victory with a score of 52.6 points.
Competition was tight with the trio of Ken Selby, Dave Compton and George Schmidt a fraction behind on 52.9.
They took the runners-up spot on countback from the third-placed team of David Wells, D. Chapman, D. Dayman and Malcolm Bryson.
