Melton Golf Club: Blunt on top form to claim Spring Trophy

Melton Mowbray Golf Club’s junior section got their season under way with the Bill Lodge Spring Trophy last week.

The stableford competition was played in kind conditions and produced two outstanding scores.

Josh Blunt won the trophy with 44 points to reduce his handicap by five strokes to 20, while runner-up James Daulby (38pts), also saw his handicap cut.

Chris Moule won the 24-28 handicap category, and the nine-hole pre-handicap section was won by Tom Fairbrother on countback from Ed Gough with Jack Standeven in third.

Played over the last eight weeks, the Spring Eclectic was won by James Daulby on countback from James Cartwright with Joey Smith in third.
