Lakeview regular Dave Harper was the overall winner at last Wednesday’s Middy qualifier with 111lb 5oz.
Dave caught carp to 5lb, skimmers, barbel and F1s on maggot from peg 11 on the canal pool, feeding down the margins and track. But third-placed Alan Rainbow was the lucky qualifier for this month’s £4,000 match, edging out Mick Beckhurst by a couple of ounces.

* With three weights over the ton, Scott Robinson and Dave Harper battled it out for top spot at Saturday’s qualifier.
Scott shaded his main rival with 116lb 13oz after fishing maggot down the track and margins. Dave again drew peg 11 on the canal and netted 114lb 10oz down the margins, catching carp, skimmers and F1s.
Fourth-placed Jimmy Aley was the lucky qualifier with 91lb 1oz and also won the Middy landing net raffle.

* Ken Daws didn’t fancy his draw on marina peg one at Lakeview’s Sunday Open, but made it three straight wins with 151lb 7oz.
Ken struggled for the first two hours for 20lb, but had a remarkable upturn in fortunes.
Terry Coburn Jnr was second off canal 14 with 137lb as seven anglers recorded weights over the ton.
