Asfordby and Melton Society of Anglers member Jimmy Aley made it through to the Middy Summer Series final after finishing tied for fifth at Saturday’s qualifier at Lakeview.
Aley and Doncaster angler Paul Jee could not be separated, both weighing in 53lb 1oz, so both qualified for September’s big match.
Brian Greenbury, who had already secured his final spot, won the match from golden peg 15 to net a £92 bonus thanks to his 103lb haul.
Lakeview Select angler Darren Bamford came through last Wednesday’s qualifier after finishing third behind fellow finalists Sean Huggins and Steve Haywood.
