Sean Huggins was the clear winner at last Wednesday’s Lakeview Middy qualifier.
He caught 149lb 1oz of carp, F1s and skimmers off peg two on serpent pool, catching on pellet down the margins and track, feeding ground bait.
Paul Cooper was the lucky qualifier to make through to the September 26 final by default. Paul caught 60lb which put him through as runner-up Dave Harper (71lb 6oz), and third-placed Andy Searle (62lb 8oz) had already qualified.

* There was a big turnout for Saturday’s Middy qualifier with 41 anglers fishing.
Doug Jackson, who had previously qualified, won with 105lb 7oz off canal’s peg six, fishing down the track and margins using pellet and feeding ground bait.
Derby angler Mark Fox was the lucky qualifier with a respectable 102lb 15oz on his first attempt at the competition. Mark caught carp to 5lb, skimmers and F1s down the track and over on pellet and maggot.

* Regular Ken Daws produce another amazing weight of 137lb 6oz to win Sunday’s open match off stream peg one.
Ken caught 36lb 12oz in the final hour, catching down the track shallow on maggot, having drawn the sought-after stream peg one.
Regular Brian Orme topped the canal lake with 89lb 6oz off peg six with a mix of carp and skimmers caught on maggot.
