A hard frost greeted anglers for Saturday’s Middy Xtreme Final qualifier at Lake View Fishery, held on the serpent lake.
Alan Rainbow (pictured) claimed the qualifying spot for next March;s final with a haul of just 14lb 5oz which was good enough for third place on the day.
Steven Pretty won the match with 65lb 1oz from peg nine almost 20lb ahead of runner up Steven Haywood, while only four anglers recorded a weight.
Wednesday winner Mick Beckhurst was the other angler to qualify for the final, heading a 14-man field with a weight of 94lb 4oz from peg 14 on the canal lake.
