It was a winner-takes-all match for Jon Wake at Lake View Fishery on Saturday as he landed a golden peg bonus on top of a final qualifying spot.
Jon won Saturday’s qualifier for the Middy Autumn/Winter Final with a haul of 85lb 4lb, taken on pellet and maggot from the golden peg three which earned him an £80 bonus.
His haul edged out runner-up Andy Searle (Lake View Select) who was little more than a pound back with 84lb 1oz, caught from peg one, also on the river pool.
He will be joined in next March’s final by Andy Bailey who topped last Wednesday’s qualifier with 96lb 1oz from peg 10 on the lagoon.
It was another close-run finish with runner-up Jason Sahall close behind on 94lb 14oz from lagoon peg seven, while Keith Daws completed a top three clean sweep for the lagoon pool with 91lb 10oz from peg 25.

* Bronson Arme was the clear winner of the Sunday Open fished on the canal pool.
His winning haul of 98lb 5oz, caught on bread from peg 14, was more than 120lb clear of Jason Sahall who claimed his second runner-up finish of the week.
