Hamilton Tennis Club held a very successful open day on Saturday when more than 100 attended.
The three sessions were organised by coaches Brent Horobin and Di Burdett with assistance from club members.
Everyone tried rallying, volleying and serving, while the morning session included an obstacle race where the fastest boy and girl, Gabriel and Lily, won giant tennis balls. The adult session included playing against a ball machine as well as the coaches
The club’s next open day will be held on Saturday, June 27.
* Senior summer league tennis matches will be in full swing from Monday, but the junior and senior Aegon leagues have already begun.
The under 8s team of Alex Freestone, Frazer Jackson, Luke Craven and Jack Skailes beat Charnwood 9-7 in a tight match.
Alex and Luke won three matches, Jack won two, and Frazer one to clinch victory.
* The under 16s boys team of Oliver Aley, Daniel Belcher, Sam Dryell and Tom Dryell found Kibworth too strong and lost 8-2 despite Oliver beating Kibworth’s number one in straight sets.
* The men’s Aegon team of Steve Wallace, James Rowe, Mark Starkey and Ben Catlin also found their opposition too strong and lost 6-0 to Charnwood.
