Hamilton Tennis Club’s summer season got off to a flying start when the men’s second team defeated Enderby Firsts 9-0.

Wearing the new eye-catching shirts, sponsored by BAC Electrical, the team put in a performance to match.

Scores: Tom Rowe/Geoff Wallace W 9-2, 9-4, 9-3; Justin Horobin/Jimmi Cox W 9-2, 9-3, 9-3; Ben Catlin/Michael Crane W 9-7, 9-2, 9-7.

* The ladies’ second team were not far behind with a 7-2 win over Market Harborough Firsts.

There were three-set maximums for Beth Lowe and Georgie Ashmore, and Nicky Kennedy with Carol Gilchrist while Jenny Golland and Sue Corfield chipped in with a set.

* The men’s fourth team were unlucky to meet a Medbourne Thirds side full of confidence from two consecutive promotions and lost 0-9.

* The ladies’ third team beat Enderby Firsts 6-3, led by a three-set maximum from Lesley Greaves and Cindy Coulter.

* The under 8s A team of Alex Freestone, Frazer Jackson, Luke Craven and Jack Skailes narrowly lost 9-7 to Market Harborough in the Aegon League with Alex winning three sets, Luke two, Frazer and Jack one each.

The under 8s B team of Hannah Richardson, Joshua Gasson, Lucy Triggs and Fergus Black beat Stoney Stanton B 13-3 with Hannah, Joshua and Lucy all winning four sets and Fergus one.

* The under 10s team of Jamie Wallace, Jack York, Lucas Townend and Libby Perkins whitewashed Roundhill 6-0, winning all of the singles before combining to win their doubles.

* The under 9s A team of Ben Greening, Alisha Dalby, Adam Thornley and Amber York drew 5-5 with Market Bosworth. Adam and Amber won two each and then combined to win their doubles.

Ben lost his singles on a tie-break then combined with Alisha only to lose on another tie-break.

* The under 14s girls team of Libby Duncan, Abigail Hickling, Beth Cavani and Niamh Wilson lost 5-1 to Ashby Castle with Libby winning her singles.

* The under 12s boys B team of Oliver Roberts, James Roberts, Matthew Gamble and Adam Wallbanks beat Carisbrooke A 6-0.
