Aiden Leighton has thanked a Melton coach for helping him win two global gold medals.
The 19-year-old from Leicester won double gold in the men’s singles and mixed doubles at the Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles.
Aiden has been playing the sport for five years at the West Bridgford Special Tennis Club, and in the past 18 months received individual coaching from Hamilton Tennis Club coach Di Burdett.
He joined more than 7,000 athletes at the event where he represented Britain in a four-strong tennis squad.
Aiden said: “I know my parents and coaches are very proud. Thank-you to everyone who helped me get to Los Angeles.”
