The schools started with a mass warm-up delivered by local club sponsors Little Springers Gymnastics Club.

They run sessions at Melton Sports Village on Saturdays between 11.30am and 2.30pm.

Each pupil performed routines of several disciplines – floor, body management and vault – and competed across different age groups – British Gymnastics Key Steps level one (Years 1 and 2), Key Steps level two (Years 3 and 4) and Key Steps level three (Years 5 and 6).

Captains Close won Key Steps 1 and 2, while Great Dalby won Key Steps 3.

Both Schools will go forward to represent the area at the Leicester-shire and Rutland School Games Competition at New College, in Leicester, in April.
