Melton kickboxers turn on the style at WKC European Championships

Melton martial artists Emmadee Fox and Brent Penniston brought home an impressive haul of medals from the WKC European Championships in Manchester.

The pair joined Danilo Trozzi, Jessica Danton and Tiffany Ryan in the Leicestershire British Chinese Kung Fu/Kickboxing Association (BCKA) squad to compete at the World Kickboxing Council event where they competed against various nations including Germany, Holland, Wales and Scotland.

Brent earned a golden treble in the veterans open hands, men’s open hands and traditional weapons to add to a pair of silver medals in the two-person team weapons and two-person synchronised forms.

Emmadee claimed gold at open hands ladies’ forms, non-musical weapons as well as silvers in two-person team weapons and two person synchronised forms, and a bronze in points fighting (-60kg).

Danilo won gold in kumata (+80kg) and continuous fighting (+85kg), and three silvers in forms (kata) weapons, open hands forms silver and veterans open hands forms. Jess Danton took silver in open hands ladies’ forms, while Tiffany Ryan won bronze in ladies’ continuous fighting (-60kg).

* British Chinese Kung fu/Kickboxing Association classes are held in Melton, Syston, Market Harborough, and Rutland.
