Melton Mowbray Golf Club seniors played an away match at Norwood Park GC on a bright sunny day on a course in very good condition.

The home side won the match by five-and-a-half points to two-and-a-half.

Melton winning pairs were David Wells and Richard Haines, and John Squires with Colin Kitchen, while Bob Luke and Julian Kisiel earned a creditable half.

* In very windy and wet conditions last Tuesday, Melton seniors team were on their travels once more and overcame a very strong Park Hill side by five wins to three.

The course played well with slick greens and well-manicured fairways.

Seniors captain Gerry Stephens and Eddie Cham edged a tight match 1-up, supported by good wins for John Squires and Al Terzza (6 and 5), Richard Grieve and Brendon Boyce (2 and 1), Dave Wells and Terry Brown (3 and 2), and Bob Purkis with Richard Haines (4 and 3).
