Louth CC Third XI moved into second place in Division Four of the Lincolnshire County Cricket League with a convincing nine-wicket win over Scunthorpe Town.
Louth skipper Ed brindle won the toss and put the visitors into bat, and opening bowlers Sam Ellis and Luke Johnson (6-0-13-1) soon had Scunthorpe in trouble at 46-3.
Change bowler Zubair Ahmed (8.1-0-17-3) did well in tandem with the dangerous Ellis who bowled with pace and bounce, hitting former Scunthorpe United goalkeeper Sam Slocombe on the helmet with one delivery.
Young Ethan Payne (2-1-1-2) picked up two wickets as Scunthorpe were dismissed for 81 with Ellis boasting figures of 12-0-37-4.
After tea, openers Matthew Stephens and Jamie Johnson set about the total in quick fashion.
Johnson was particularly ruthless on anything off line to smash 27 before being run out with the score on 41. No further wickets fell as Will Allis (13 not out) and Stephens (37 not out) saw Louth reach their target with 40 overs to spare to take the full 20 points.
