Lakeview: In-form Searle lands back-to-back wins

In-form Andy Searle won two matches in three days at Lakeview as he topped the weights for both the Middy Baggin Machine Final qualifiers.

On Wednesday he booked is place in the final after catching 66lb 13oz off river peg three River. Searle caught on maggot and pellet shallow down the track and across, taking mainly carp and F1s. Steve Haywood drew golden peg one on stream and won his lake, finishing second overall, to add an extra £80 to his winnings.

* A total weight of 56lb 12oz was enough to give Searle the win on Saturday, off peg 12 on the marina.

He caught carp, skimmers and F1s on maggot all over. Bob Dyer was the lucky qualifier for September’s final, catching 52lb despite losing four fish which cost him his chances of winning in an exciting weigh-in.

* After a frosty start, following overnight hale, snow and rain, regular angler Ant Lee won the Sunday open at Lakeview with 69lb 4oz off peg 10 on canal.
